Welcome to the weekly Perfume Chat Room, perfumistas! I envision this chat room as a weekly drop-in spot online, where readers may ask questions, suggest fragrances, tell others their SOTD, comment on new releases or old favorites, and respond to each other. The perennial theme is fragrance, but we can interpret that broadly. This is meant to be a kind space, so please try not to give or take offense, and let’s all agree to disagree when opinions differ. In fragrance as in life, your mileage may vary! YMMV.
Today is Friday, September 25, and the weather has suddenly become more like fall, at least where I live. That seems to be the case in other parts of this hemisphere too, because I’ve been seeing a lot of blog posts and comments elsewhere about people putting away their more summery fragrances and taking out fragrances they enjoy in autumn.
One of mine is the aptly named Automne, by Van Cleef & Arpels. Fragrantica calls it a “floral-woody-musk.” One thing I like about it is that the dominant notes are lily and sandalwood. I’ll write more about it for “Scent Sample Sunday” this weekend!
Are you having autumnal weather where you are? Or some other change of season with the equinox? What fragrances do you prefer in autumn?

It’s gotten cold and rainy in our holidays, so we stayed in for the day and did some cooking and reading. I tested a sample of Figment woman today, but it’s a scrubber on me.

Really? Why? I haven’t tried it. Gorgeous bottle though!

It’s cooled down fast in the northeast, although today it’s bounced back up to warm temperatures. This week has mostly been about osmanthus for me – OJ Osmanthus and Parfum d’Empire Osmanthus Interdite. A floral-woody-musk does sound good for the season change.

Have you tried The Different Company’s Osmanthus?

I haven’t, but I’ve read about it. I would also like to try Nicolaï’s Fig Tea.

I have a bottle of TDC’s Osmanthus that I like a lot. I need to get that out. I also love Ormonde Jayne’s Osmanthus. I have a sample vial of that somewhere that I will wear this week. Thanks for the osmanthus reminder!!

I’ve been wearing Etro Paisley, a spicy autumnal scent, and Nuit Etoilee’ by Goutal. Both remind me of cool night and autumn air.

I have Nuit Etoilee, I should pull it out. It’s not that cool here yet, though.

We’re expecting 93F today 😦 and at least a couple more of really hot days, so even if I were doing a physical rotation of perfumes, it would have been too early for that (but I don’t since I’m not sure if that puzzle has another good configuration that would fit the same space 😉 ).
Yesterday I wore Masque Milano Love Kills, and I can still smell it on my hair 16 hours later.

93F! It was over 80F here today and VERY humid, so not very pleasant in my garden though I did get a few things done. And now it is pouring rain! Which is fine, we need it. And it’s another day of watering pots that I don’t have to do.
