Today is Friday, October 2, and I am so late posting this! My apologies. As you may know, it has been a very weird day today in the United States. And I’ll just leave it at that. I didn’t wear a single scent today — I was swamped by work duties, and just forgot, if you can believe that. How about you? What did you wear today as we begin the month of October?
Serenity Now Scents and Sensibilities 
I wore Ambre 114 today. It’s chilly, frost warning tonight which always brings out my amber perfumes. Just got home from an away football game (tough loss) but it’s good to be out there on Friday nights.

Sorry about the loss! My husband and I watched our son’s former team online last night. I miss those Friday nights! Had dinner this week with some of his teammates’ moms, it was fun to see them and hear about everyone’s college freshmen.

It’s finally getting a bit chilly here so I got out the cooler weather Guerlains. Layered Spiriteuse Double Vanilla with Myrrhe et Delires yestewrday. Really good! Day before it as Angelique Noire (a favorite- love it) with Van Cleef Orchidee Vanille. Interestingly, the 2 share some notes. I was surprised.
Today I am wearing my Atomic Rose that I just bought from Initio Parfums. It has a bit of a ‘bite’ to it but I like it. Did anyone else join the Sniffapoolaza zoom with Initio last week or the week before? I forget which day it was. It was fun and Initio gave us lots of nice extras (which I will post on Instagram later) with a purchase, so I dove in and bought my first Initio fragrance. I liked the rose and one or 2 others, but they are quite pricey so any more will have to wait.

I haven’t done any Zoom sniffs but they really do sound like fun. Atomic Rose sounds alluring!

Initio sent everyone who signed up for the Zoom class (there was a small fee) a packet of samples and we sniffed them along with the presenters during the zoom. It was fun.

Down here it’s warming up beautifully. Spring is really here now.
I’ve been wearing a mish mash because days are hot and evenings/mornings are cool.
Right now I’m in Miller et Bertaux Pimiento. It’s their newest. The first 30 minutes are interesting, fresh cut bell pepper and spice but then it collapses a little into something softly comfortable and nice but a little generic. It smells fine but with these guys I expect a bit more. That first 30 minutes is well worth the trouble though,

It seems most people I talk to have been swamped with work! I definitely had a few mornings this week when I forgot about perfume, but fortunately I would remember to put some on later. Mostly Chanel No 19 and OJ Osmanthus.

I have been terribly busy at work, also a few tasks with very absolute deadllines. With headaches and being sick from migraine, I haven’t worn perfume every day, at least not all day long. I miss some good perfumes for the short autumn days, the ambers will be for later. I have been wearing Guerlain AA Mandarine Basilic (really want to finish the bottle before winter, and it is kind of energising) and on Friday SL 5 o’clock de Gingembre in the afternoon to finally relax and start the weekend. Today various citrus scents again.
We are back to working from home, since the COVID situation is getting worse again after universities and schools had their welcome week(s) for new students, even if some stopped the festivities and other institutions tried to do it in a pandemic safe way, it was not enough. Add to that some weddings and religious seremonies and you gett the picture. It has become mandatory to use a face mask on public transport, in the capital at least, only around a quarter of the commuters did when it was just strongly adviced a month ago. I’ve been feeling a little uneasy wearing a mask whenever I go in a taxi, but most drivers think it is a good thing and I feel safer that way.

Definitely wear the mask! That really does seem to help, from what I’ve read. I’ve been working from home since the end of March, though I can stop by my office when I need something. I think I have a decant of Five O’Clock Au Gingembre, I’ll have to look for it!

Wearing Guerlain’s Neroli Outrenoir today. Such a beauty. Not as sweet as some of the earlier L’Arts et Matieres offerings, but lots of good deep spices and dark tea notes, a bit of a smoky vibe in the drydown. I may have to buy a bottle of this one. I keep trying to talk myself out of it and then I spray it on and I’m in love again…
