I envision this chat room as a weekly drop-in spot online, where readers may ask questions, suggest fragrances, tell others their SOTD, comment on new releases or old favorites, and respond to each other. Today is Friday, August 25, and it is my last Friday as an employee! My official retirement date is August 31, next week. My family is having a “friends and family” retirement party for me tomorrow, and one of my oldest and dearest friends arrived earlier today from out of town. She’ll be here all weekend, and I’m so happy about that! We’ve been friends for 40+ years and have supported each other through many of life’s ups and downs. She is also godmother to our oldest child.
The house is now sparkling clean, and our kids will be over for dinner soon, to see her before the party crowd arrives tomorrow. There’s nothing like a beloved houseguest and a looming party deadline to motivate me for some overdue cleaning. Not my favorite activity, but I do love the results.

Serenity Now Scents and Sensibilities 
I hope you have a fantastic weekend! So much fun to have your friend to stay. Tonight is my first high school football game of the season, wish it was a little cooler (82 degrees and humid at 5:30) but glad to be back at work. Wearing my (formerly) lucky perfume, Stash. Now wearing it because I like it, my team isn’t that great any more!

Once again – Happy Retirement! And have a blast with your party!
I don’t have much planned for the weekend – some chores that could not be done during the week, a dinner with friends – that’s it, I think.
I might do some perfume-wearing plans for the next week: I get so overwhelmed in the morning that sometimes I can’t decide what to wear and might go for the most of the day not wearing anything. I don’t like it, so I’ll try to pre-plan.

Getting back into the swing of things here after India.
Also, Jin’s best friend moved apartments so we have helped with that (Jin much more than me). We painted the old place, got a truck and did the heavy lifting, did the IKEA run and while I’m back home having a nap Jin is building wall units and desks.
Tomorrow we are having a couple of mates to lunch and then I’m back to work in the evening.

I hope your party was a blast!
Now to get used to retirement.
I’ve spent the afternoon with mum. She’s sleeping most of the time now but she knows when I’m there. I could have a day off tomorrow as my brother is going. I doubt I’ll be able to let myself.
