Today is Friday, September 4, and for once, I am on time with the Friday Community Project listed every week on the blog “Now Smell This.” Today’s theme is: “Zest and Smoulder…wear a fragrance with citrus and smoky notes, or, layer two fragrances to achieve the same effect, or interpret the theme in whatever way works for your collection.” What a great theme for the first Friday in September, the start of Labor Day Weekend in the USA, and often considered the transition from summer to fall. (That’s true in New England states and other more Northern parts of the US, but here in the South, September will still be hot and humid, and schools have been back in session since early August).
I thought it would be hard to find a fragrance in my collection, including samples, to fit that theme but it turns out that Frost, by St. Clair Scents, is exactly right. Come back on “Scent Sample Sunday” if you want to read more about it!

Serenity Now Scents and Sensibilities 
I think I have a sample of Frost – maybe I’ll pull it out. I haven’t been very adventurous this week. Our 15 year old beagle crossed the rainbow bridge on Tuesday evening and our house has felt very, very empty (even though everyone is working/schooling from home). I wore Si Lolita for several days, Tauer Wowilla oil, Bvlgari Black and Fragonard Verveine for some fresh. Tried a sample of 34 Boul St Germain as well. But my heart hasn’t been in it. Maybe next week.

Just went and did the NST event. Tea for Two by L’Artisan. The citrus is fleeting but the smoky tea lasts for ages. MMMMM

Usually I participate in NST events by reading everyone’s comments during the week when I have time, and I try to follow the theme on Friday.

Vilhelm Parfumerie Black Citrus is this type of fragrance. It’s not really my jam but it’s a well done fragrance. Don’t follow NST. I may want to follow, though.
