Today is Friday, August 13 — how has your luck held up? I thought about wearing Frederic Malle’s Superstitious as my SOTD, but work was so busy today that I haven’t worn any fragrance yet! (And that’s also why I’m late posting — apologies!). What’s your SOTD? Do you harbor any superstitions? Do you remember vinyl records from the 20th century?
Serenity Now Scents and Sensibilities 
For my Favorite Friday I chose Fragonard Verveine. Pretty artwork on the bottle (this was the “flower of the year” release in 2018 – super refreshing for this hot humid day. Spent half of it with my camera (football practice and individual head shots for the website) and in the cafeteria serving the boys lunch. I’m trying not to think about what I’ll be doing next August (when our only child will go off to college….)

Well, first you’ll be doing a LOT of packing! Speaking as one who has sent 3 kids to college, one of whom goes back at the end of this month. So I’ll be a temporary empty-nester soon! You’re so creative, I know you’ll find plenty to interest you and keep you busy. That first goodbye is challenging, though. But they do come back!

So I finally chose my SOTD: Jeffrey Dame’s JD Singularity (Woman). It smells just like original Coppertone! Very appealing, but it won’t be a FB for me. I might go for a rollerball, though …

I thought of perfume I would wear for the NST CP, but then I was so busy that I didn’t get to wear it until 3 PM. I enjoy wearing Jeux de Peau every time I do it, but then I forget about it until the next time. I think, I have just a couple of “wears” left in my decant, and I will not be buying it in a bell jar after that – it’s nice but not that nice.
I’m not superstitious at all. And yes, even though I’m old enough to remember vinyls, I’m not that old yet not to remember them 😉

My SOTD was the last of my sample of Floraïku One Umbrella for Two, with a strong genmaicha note (although the heat seems to have brought out the other notes, such as cedar, a bit more). Not sure about superstition but I have certain quirky preferences like starting on a staircase with my right foot.

Nice SOTD! I don’t get hung up on this as a superstition, but I tend to avoid stepping on cracks between paving stones.

I like to think of Friday the 13th as a lucky day, not a scary one. My scent of the day was Prada’s Infusion de Iris, a nice cool scent for a hot day. I’ve been drawn to my cool starchy irises and cool powdery fragrances like Heeley’s Poudre Blanc this week with all the heat and humidity we’ve been having.

Hey OH,
The NST CP was fun this week. I wore Oud Ispahan by DIOR. So luscious and glam.
Today (Saturday night here already) I’ve been in New Look 1947 all day but have gone with Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille for the cooler evening. I forget how freaking rich and beautiful it is between wears and now it’s almost the end of winter here it probably won’t get any more wears this year.
VINYL! Yes, I kept about 100 LPs and 12″ Singles from my collection that have trudged around with me from house to house. Some excellent stuff of my parents and some 80/90s stuff of my own. One day I’ll get rid of them but it all seems so final if I do.
