Perfume Chat Room, February 7

Welcome to the weekly Perfume Chat Room, perfumistas! I envision this chat room as a weekly drop-in spot online, where readers may ask questions, suggest fragrances, tell others their SOTD, comment on new releases or old favorites, and respond to each other. The perennial theme is fragrance, but we can interpret that broadly. This is meant to be a kind space, so please try not to give or take offense, and let’s all agree to disagree when opinions differ. In fragrance as in life, your mileage may vary! YMMV.

Today is Friday, February 7, and the gardening frenzy continues! I’ve moved a few of my roses that were in large pots, bought a couple of new (fragrant) roses, and have been pruning like a madwoman. Luckily the weather has been fine, and it’s a great distraction from the news to be outside digging and pruning.

Next Friday is, of course, Valentine’s Day. Having bought myself Rosarine, I graciously offered it to my husband to give me for Valentine’s Day instead of a rose bouquet, lol. I may have enough new rose fragrances soon to do another “Roses de Mai Marathon“. If not, I can fill in with posts about my new actual rose plants.

Are you hoping/expecting to get any fragrances or fragrant items for Valentine’s Day?

  1. Valentine’s Day is pretty low key for us. Cards, maybe a little chocolate. (It was never really a gift occasion even when we were younger. We are having a quick visit with our son this weekend which includes a deep clean of his apartment. He is quite tidy but hasnt caught on to the “clean” thing yet, so in the interest of preserving the security deposit we are having a lesson today. Then a nice dinner afterwards. Enjoy the weekend!

    • Have a great time with your son, cleaning aside! When my sister and I shared an apartment in NYC with two male friends, one of them had a book given to him by his lovely girlfriend (also a classmate and now his wife of many years) called “Where’s Mom Now That I Need Her?”, lol. It was a basic guide to daily life, including cleaning, laundry, first aid, cooking, etc. TBH, it was very handy!

  2. We may do cards, we may not. I have usually cooked something delicious.
This year Mr Jarvis Cockapoo had a hot date with his groomer!
We’re hoping DH gets his treatment on Wed/Thurs. If so, he won’t be up for doing much, or have much appetite.
