Hello friends — this week, I am seeking your advice! I will be in the South of France, and I’d love to know your thoughts on any particular fragrances that are easier or less expensive to get in France than in the US, or any special fragrance “explorations” I should pursue. I am already signed up for a perfume workshop at Parfum et Vous, and I can’t wait! I’ve been to Grasse before and have done one of the factory tours at Molinard (great fun and very instructive). Our group will be visiting Saint-Paul de Vence and Nice. I’ve visited Nice before and plan to wander in the markets there; I’ll probably bring home some of those lovely soaps. Any other suggestions? P.S. We will have one transfer in Charles de Gaulle airport, coming and going, but I don’t know how much time we’ll have there.

if you like marzipan you should try the Calissons. Maybe you are interested in french skincare. The Roche-Posay or Bioderma line are much cheaper in France!

If you can get to Jessica September Buchanan’s shop (1000 Flowers Fragrances) in Grasse I say go there! She is the perfumer of my all time favorite fragrance 1000 Flowers Reglisse Noire. She has other offerings as well. Tell her Brigitte says hi if you do go!
Safe travels and enjoy! Looking forward to what you have to report on your blog when you return.

Here is the exact address-
4 Place aux Aires, 06130 Grasse
I have a feeling that you might like her Rose Cassis Paradis…it’s a gorgeous succulent jammy rose that smells amazing in heat….my eldest daughter took my travel spray of it back with her to university yesterday because she loved it so much !

My guess is she would probably ship to the UK? she is in Grasse. I can look to see if it’s carried in a shop in the UK…off to research!

Matty-
No UK store carries it but here is a link to the stocklist-

I am sure she could ship to the UK or are there restrictions? I know she is able to ship to the States as that is how I get my perfumes from her.
She also makes a sampler pack which is absolutely stunning in presentation…her boxes are so beautiful!

This is so exciting! Have so much fun and tell us all about it, of course!
You might look into Miller et Bertaux. I looked for their scents when I was in Montreal, but you might have better luck finding them in person in France.
Even L’Occitane might be less expensive, depending on the exchange rate. And skincare lines like Caudalie are much cheaper in France.

Hello all, and thank-you Brigette for recommending us! (and for being such a fan of Reglisse!) :). We do ship internationally from France, and if you are in the area, please do drop into the shop to say hello! And by the way, the Expo Rose event in May is a really fun thing to do Grasse. (this year’s dates- May 10-12) All through May, of course is the month of the centifola rose, so if you’re a rose fan, that’s the time to visit. See you all soon! ❤
