Welcome to the weekly Perfume Chat Room, perfumistas! I envision this chat room as a weekly drop-in spot online, where readers may ask questions, suggest fragrances, tell others their SOTD, comment on new releases or old favorites, and respond to each other. The perennial theme is fragrance, but we can interpret that broadly. This is meant to be a kind space, so please try not to give or take offense, and let’s all agree to disagree when opinions differ. In fragrance as in life, your mileage may vary! YMMV.
Today is Tuesday, April 28, and May is almost upon us! I’ve been remiss bout posting here because I’ve been spending hours every day in our garden, tending to my many roses.
Portia asked for more photos of said roses, so here’s a gallery! I wish you could lol smell them through the screen, their scents are wonderful. One of the lovely aspects of having so many roses is that one can actually detect how different many of them smell. Fruity, musky, old-rose, lemony, tea-like — so many variations on the “rose” theme!
Do you grow any roses? Do you pick up on different scents from them?

your roses are gorgeous! I don’t have a single one; my garden is very much a low-maintenance thing. I do remember one beautiful pink rose my mom had when I was a kid. And of course, her Perfumers Worshop Tea Rose perfume, one of her favorites.

Thank you! I wouldn’t be able to keep up with them all if I hadn’t retired. They do keep me busy! But that’s mostly because I find it relaxing to fuss over them, like deadheading every day to get more flowers, and picking off bugs.

Those are SO gorgeous. I know they all smell amazing, too. I needed some lovely flower photos to distract me from my itching incisions. My surgery last Wednesday went well and I haven’t had very much pain, but the itching has started and it’s brutal. I can’t scratch a new incision and I do want to scream sometimes. Hopefully things will improve soon. I keep reminding myself that itching comes with healing, so it’s a very good sign, although also maddening! Wearing comforting fragrances helps, too. Today I’m wearing my sample of Need U by Laboratorio Olfattivo. I think I’m going to need a bottle of this one.

I’m so sorry about the itching! Have your doctors/nurses suggested any remedies? Nurses are usually good resources, I find. If they say you’re allowed to take Tylenol, I find that helps with itching. Glad the surgery went well, though! And you smell great!
