Today is Saturday, November 7, and we are back from the beach! We had a lovely, relaxing time away, and our elderly dog Lucy was living her best life, going for walks on the beach, riding in a golf cart, and sniffing everything. She did totally ignore the deer who just walk around everywhere, even when they were mere feet away. She loved the marsh boardwalk, even though we couldn’t walk it every day due to very high tides.

The marsh smells wonderful to me, salty and briny and muddy and green. It reminds me a bit of Hermès’ Un Jardin Sur la Lagune, but dirtier and less refined of course. Do you like the smell of salt marshes, or other seaside landscapes? I love the smell of beach roses, but those are more prevalent on beaches in the Northeast.
