Better late than never! This week I thunked my sample of Miu Miu L’Eau Rosee, a very pretty fragrance for spring which is the 2018 flanker to the original Miu Miu. It opens with sparkling citrus notes of lime, lemon, and bergamot, with a tinge of green from cassis (blackcurrant) buds. The floral heart is dominated by peony and lily of the valley, supported by light fruity notes of pear and peach. I don’t smell much of the rose note in the heart. The base is mostly a soft musk, with hints of spice, sandalwood and vanilla. This one falls into the category of “happy to wear it to finish the sample, don’t need a full bottle.” But I would love to be able to buy a coffret of minis of Miu Miu and its flankers, the bottles are adorable!

I’ve only sampled the original Miu Miu, none of the flankers. Sometimes it’s a relief to enjoy a sample and not feel the need for a full bottle, money saved!
I thunked a bottle of J’Adore. I’ve had it for years, but have a back up bottle and a couple of the flankers. I don’t reach for J’Adore often, but always find it a happy and pretty fragrance to wear.

You know, I’ve never tried J’Adore! I think it’s because it seems to be so readily available all the time, and I’m pretty sure I’ll like it, so I put it off.

Agreed, J’adore is very common and mass marketed, typically the type of fragrance that doesn’t register with me. I likely would not have sampled it either; it was a gift from my sister-in-law many years ago. It really is surprisingly good to my nose for a mass marketed perfume. Worth a sniff next time you’re at the department store or Sephora!

I have a bottle of J’Adore that I have had forever- can’t imagine thunking it. It’s one of those that gets ignored a lot, my collection is just too big.

I thunked a lot this week…a full bottle of Eau de Merveilles (because I added a large chunk of the juice to another large decant and added a hefty dose of lavender essential oil to create a lavender soliflore…I could never smell EdM on me but NOW I can!!!), a sample of Caron Pour un Homme from the lovely Marcella of APJ, and various decants of beachy fragrances that my friend sent to my eldest as they both love those notes…the eldest brought back the dregs of the decants when she came home with her sister for spring break so that I can try them and thunk them…Mr. Hulot’s Holiday, Un Air de Bretagne (but she still has two more back up decants of that one), Acqua di Sale and Acqua Motu…..it was a very successful thunk week for me.

Wow, that is a lot! What did you think of Un Air de Bretagne? I’m curious about it; have tried it briefly, once, when I was in Nice in January. I liked it but haven’t sampled it since.

Because of its name, which is a take on my eldest’s, and my friend’s and daughter’s love for it, I am quite smitten with UadB… it’s an aquatic but it also reads sweet on my skin . I love the look of the bottle too.

No thunking this week for me, although nothing on the docket today so I’m going to try a few things and perhaps manage a thunk. I would probably buy a coffret (if they were sprayers!) of the Miu Mius, agree that the bottles are super cute. Not allowing myself to acquire any more splash minis; if they aren’t Parfum I don’t get any satisfaction from using them.
